Path of Exile Item Upgrading
In Path of Exile, item upgrading is one of the most effective ways to upgrade your gear without relying upon massive drops or trade. This article will teach you how to upgrade your items efficiently.
Upgrades to equipment provide an increase to the item's base stats. The bonus increases with upgrade component level and rarity.
Components
Upgrade components can make your armour and weapons better. You can acquire them by destroying enemies, finding them in item spheres, or purchasing them from karma sellers. They can also be rescued from equipment that contains them or by using the highest-quality salvage kits such as the Black Lion Salvage Kit or Ascended Salvage Tool. Upgrade components aren't destroyed when you remove them from the item.
Upgrade components are typically used to improve an item but they can also be used for other reasons. They can be stacked to increase the level of an upgradeable item or they can be used to boost the experience gained when upgrading an existing weapon or piece of equipment. They can also be forged to give additional bonuses. A glyph that has been crafted can increase the chances of upgrading its target while an upgrade boosts the attack or defense attributes of the weapon.
You can connect an upgrade template to an item by selecting it from the edition GUI. This will show an upgrade component list that the item can be upgraded to. Alternatively, you can make use of the workbench to choose an upgrade template. In item upgrader will be upgraded when enough upgrade components are gathered.
Each component has its own experience multiplier that affects how much more experience an item receives when it upgrades with the component. For instance, organic components have a an experience multiplier that is higher than mechanical ones. It is recommended to upgrade organic components first until you reach the next level in the weapon or equipment and then move on to mechanical upgrades.
In addition to the experience multiplier Each item also comes with an maximum number of upgrades that it can receive. The number of upgradeable items is determined by their upgradeable rank and the type of upgrade they can receive. The highest upgrade possible is a weapon of 10th level. The most commonly used upgrade is a gun with tier 6 and an armor upgrade of tier 5.
Sets
A set is a collection of objects that share the same bonus. Each item in the set can be upgraded at least one time, and the upgrade increases the amount of bonuses that are guaranteed. The first time you upgrade the set piece or weapon, it will receive a +1 increase to its primary stat. Following upgrades, the primary stats are boosted even further (for instance the +1 bonus for 12+/13+/14+) and each time an item is upgraded one of its additional stats is increased randomly.
Upgrades can also increase the base damage of a weapon. This can be crucial for certain types of weapons. However, weapons can't be upgraded to have a higher defense level than their regular base. It is a good way to improve the value of certain sets and unique items, but it's important to note that they're not necessarily superior to a high-level runeword in any build.
If an item you're upgrading has a guaranteed bonus it is able to be rerolled a few times, and then its guarantee will be reset to zero. Rerolling costs the same amount of power dice as leveling an item up, but the new item will offer different extra bonuses. The NPC [ArmorBoboko Boboko can upgrade your armor in Central Flarine. To upgrade an item, you'll require a power die of each kind (Dice 4 or 6 drop from monsters 21+ and Giants; Dice 7 drops from bosses) and the proper amount of Minerals and Erons. These are available at the crafting table or in the Ultra Collector, and can be purchased with Gold. NPCs also offer special rewards for each completed level of the upgrade process. This reward can be rerolled once, and the reroll will be made using the same materials as the original item.

Rerolling
If players have enough to reroll tokens, they are able to roll any item they've accumulated during the game. When an item is rerolled it will be replaced with the same level in another set. Reroll tokens can be bought at the store for small amounts of in-game currency. However, they cannot be refunded. The new item will come with the same bonuses like the first, however the stats will also differ.
Players can change the identity of equipment in addition to rolling it again by interacting with an upgrader NPC. This will change the identity from a weapon to armor or vice versa, all the while keeping its basic stats and required attributes. The change will be permanent and will affect all characters who have the gear.
The player can also upgrade their level of an item for any equipped equipment. This is done by engaging with an upgrader NPC and getting upgrade items. It will cost a specific amount of crests and Valorstones depending on the upgrade track and the item kind. For weapons, each step will add an additional 5% to its damage.
Upgrades can increase the power of an item, but they also decrease the quality of an item. It is therefore important to find a balance between the two. Some items are not worth upgrading, while other items need to be upgraded to reach their full potential. For example, a player might decide to upgrade a piece breakpoint armor with an interesting modifier (% chance to block or FHR) to see what it can become.
The primary reason why people play rerolls in Genshin Impact, or in any gacha-based game, is that they're trying to obtain a particular character or weapon that they aren't able to obtain. These items can be time-consuming and expensive to acquire, and the RNG does not always work in a positive way. The only alternative is to invest money or grind a lot. Rerolling is very popular in Genshin Impact.
Leveling
When upgrading an item you can choose to increase the level of the weapon or armor. However, this feature does absolutely nothing in the current game. I believe this feature was created to give value to expensive and rare items. However, since most gear is replaced fairly quickly, and can only be upgraded one level, you will typically replace it before it becomes too old. It's also not worth it to upgrade items that have gem sockets because the power of the gem will far outweigh the higher ilvl that comes with the upgrade.
You will see a small window when you click on the upgrade option for an item. It will show the template of the item, the Crest, as well as the Valorstone cost to raise the item's level. The costs will vary between weapons and armor as well, with the former typically costing more than the latter. The upgrade template lists the stats that can be added to an upgraded item, as well as its current base ilvl.
The cost of the Valorstone and the crest is calculated based on the current Ilvl of the item and the upgrade templates. In addition, the ilvl of the new upgraded item will be decreased by the upgrade template's lvl decrease percentage. For instance an upgrade of 8% will decrease the weapon's ilvl by 8 to 88%.
The item will receive upgrades to other stats, like critical strike damage, PvE damage and block, parry and dodge rating in addition to the base ilvl. The increases are also built on the upgrade template.
The amount of damage and defense that the item is able to receive when leveled up can be observed below the upgrade cost and decrease percentages in the upgrade template window. All armor and weapons, except practice equipment, get these stats once they've been leveled up. The value of these additional stats will be determined by the market, with a perfectly rolled weapon or piece of armor is able to command higher trade values than non-upp'd versions. This is also true for other armor pieces such as circlets or tiaras.
